Modi makes it up with Sena

April 22, 2014 02:09 am | Updated May 21, 2016 12:41 pm IST - Mumbai:

If the Shiv Sena felt let down by the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, during his previous election meeting here, he made amends for it on Monday.

In his speech last time, Mr. Modi did not even mention the late Bal Thackeray, but this time, in the presence of Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, Mr. Modi made it a point to start his speech by mentioning the late Sena leader and praising his contribution.

Taking a jibe at Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s meeting with Shahi Imam, Mr. Thackeray asked whether the Imam would now decide the next Prime Minister. “The saffron sea of humanity sitting ahead will decide the next PM,” he said.

He said infiltrators from Bangladesh too voted, and the new government would kick them out of the country.
