Modi lauds ITBP on its raising day

The Indo Tibetan Border Police Force, raised on October 24, 1962, is deployed on border guarding duties from the Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh, covering 3488 km of the India-China border.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) personnel on the raising day of the force on Friday and saluted them for their bravery.

“On the raising day of ITBP, I salute our brave ITBP personnel. We are proud of their valour, determination and service to the nation,” the Prime Minister said.

ITBP was raised on October 24, 1962 and is presently deployed on border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh, covering 3488 km of the India-China border.

Being a specialised mountain force, ITBP has also been carrying out numerous rescue and relief operations.
