Moderate quake hits Meghalaya, Assam and Mizoram

An earthquake of moderate intensity on Wednesday hit Meghalaya, Assam and some parts of Mizoram, official sources said.

There were no report of any loss of life or loss of property in the quake, they said.

The quake which measured 4.9 in the Richter scale was experienced at around 4.15 pm, the Regional Seismological Laboratory here said.

The epicentre of the quake was located at Sonitpur district of Assam.
