National Alliance of People’s Movements convener Medha Patkar and leaders of various other movements arrived here on Wednesday to discuss with Aam Aadmi Party leaders the nitty-gritty of their support to the AAP.

Ms. Patkar has announced the NAPM’s backing for the AAP but has not decided yet if she wants to join the party or contest elections. “We are supporting the AAP but how far and in what form we are yet to decide. Our members need to understand how they will relate with the AAP on ideology, various processes and such things which we are here to discuss. We expect Arvind [Kejriwal] and other core leaders to join the discussions on Thursday.’’

Accompanying Ms. Patkar will be Akhil Gogoi from Assam, Arundhati Dhuru from Uttar Pradesh, Prafulla Samantra from Assam, Dayamani Barla from Jharkhand and Madhuresh from Bihar.
