In a strange incident, a seriously injured bridegroom had his marriage solemnised in a hospital here on Friday.
Wasim and his relatives were travelling to Allahabad from Varanasi for his marriage with a local girl Yasmin, when their car was hit by the Lichhavi Express near the Hanumanganj crossing here on Thursday.
His mother Sahiba Khatoon (55) and driver Rajan died on the spot while three others, including Wasim, were grievously injured and were admitted to a hospital here.
Moments after Wasim regained consciousness, he insisted on getting married from his hospital bed. Yasmin and a Qazi were rushed to the hospital and the marriage was conducted with the hospital staff as witnesses.
