A Delhi court on Thursday adjourned hearing on bail applications of former Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran, his brother Kalanithi Maran and the latter's wife Kaveri Kalanithi to August 1 in a money laundering case connected with Aircel-Maxis deal.
Special Judge O.P. Saini adjourned the hearing as counsel for the Enforcement Directorate, N.K. Matta, sought time to file replies to their bail applications.
While taking cognisance of the complaint in the case the Judge had said that he was satisfied on perusal of the material on record and that there was enough material to proceed against the accused persons.
The ED has alleged that two firms, South Asia FM Limited (SAFL) and Sun Direct TV Private Ltd. (SDTPL), had received Rs. 742.58 crore as “proceeds of crime” from Mauritius-based firms and that the two firms were then allegedly controlled by Mr. Kalanithi Maran.
