Maoist killed in Jharkhand encounter

A Maoist was on Saturday killed in an encounter with the security forces in East Singhbhum district, the police said here.

The body of Sunil Gorai, a member of the CPI (Maoist) “Dalma firing squad”, was found near Banporia village under Patamda police station, the police said.

The security forces and the Maoists exchanged fire around 2 am before the ultras fled the spot. During a search operation, the police found Gorai’s body, the sources added.
