Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been a vegetarian all along but he wouldn't mind breaking his green code, just for a taste of the mouth-watering Bengali delicacy.

On the eve of his two-day Dhaka visit, the first by an Indian Prime Minister since 1999, Dr. Singh said: “I am willing to break my vegetarian vow because I have heard about the delicious dish of hilsa fish.” He made this remark, in a lighter vein, during an interview to Bangladesh national news agency BSS.

“I am vegetarian... [but] I am willing to make that exception,” he joked when he was asked about hilsa being very popular in India.
