Manmohan, Modi to share dais

After days of sparring, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will share a platform on October 29, the occasion being inauguration of a museum at the Sardar Patel Memorial here.

Both the Prime Minister and Mr. Modi will deliver speeches at the programme organised by the Sardar Patel Trust, headed by Union Minister Dinsha Patel of the Congress.

It may be recalled that during his public meetings across the country after being declared the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Mr. Modi targeted the Congress-led UPA government, calling Dr. Singh too weak to lead the country. In response, the Congress ridiculed Mr. Modi, and Dr. Singh publicly said the Chief Minister’s campaign would wane and the Congress would return to power after the general election.
