Prime Minister Manmohan Singh flew out of Andrews Air Force base on Wednesday morning for Brasilia, where he will attend back-to-back summits of the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) and Brazil, Russia, India China groupings.

The IBSA summit will be held on April 15 while BRIC will meet on April 16. Dr. Singh will also meet Chinese president Hu Jintao on the sidelines of Friday's event.

While IBSA has been meeting at the summit level for the past few years, this will be the second summit of the BRIC countries. Their first summit was held last in Ekaterinburg, Russia, last year.

Among the issues India will discuss in Brasilia at both forums is the need for better and more inclusive management of the world economy and financial system.
