Terming as “tragic” the Air India Express plane crash, External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna on Saturday said it was known that Mangalore airport “is a very tricky” runway and that skills of a pilot would be put on maximum test while landing there.

“It was known and generally understood that the Mangalore airport and the runway is a very tricky runway and the skills of pilot would be put to maximum test while landing in Mangalore. Our worst fears have come true,” he said.
