Make on-the-spot assessment of Manipur fencing: Shinde

The bridge is likely to be the yardstick for demarcating the boundary

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has directed all heads of agencies associated with the construction of the border fence in Manipur to go to the border areas to make an on-the-spot assessment.

High officials of the Border Roads Organisation, Assam Rifles, Surveyor of India and others are arriving at Imphal on Saturday.

They are likely to go to a border town Moreh along with Manipur government officials and representatives of the 13 political parties on Sunday.

Mr. Shinde and the 22 leaders of the political parties led by Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh held a meeting on Thursday where he expressed his opinion.
