Low intensity quake hits Nicobar islands

A low intensity earthquake hit Nicobar Islands region in the wee hours of Saturday, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said in New Delhi.

The quake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was recorded at 2.59 a.m. and epicentred at a latitude of 9.7 degree north and longitude of 92.5 degree east, it said.

There were no immediate reports of any damage to life and property.
