A day after she was named as the new Lok Sabha speaker, Sumitra Mahajan called on Vice President Hamid Ansari and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday.
Ms. Mahajan met Dr. Ansari, who is also Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, at his residence and then called on Mr. Vajpayee.
She also called on her predecessor Ms. Meira Kumar.
