The idea of India — that is democracy — faces its most serious challenge from the Bharatiya Janata Party and it was intent not just on shredding the secular fabric of the nation, but also on destroying the democratic institutions, the Congress alleged here on Sunday.

Stung by the onslaught against it through the recently concluded winter session of Parliament, the Congress unleashed its fury on the BJP.

Both in a political resolution as well as in speeches by senior leaders and delegates alike, the message that went out from Burari on Sunday, the second day of the organisation's 83rd plenary — coinciding with its 125th anniversary — was that the Congress meant business and that it was going to be a bare knuckles battle from now on.

Indeed, the political resolution, passed after discussion, asked the government to tackle the communal menace in the strongest possible manner and investigate links between terrorists and the RSS and its sister organisations that were uncovered in some recent cases. “The role of religious fundamentalist organisations in challenging the security of the nation can no longer be ignored,” it said.

Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who moved the political resolution, focussed on the “illogical” fashion the BJP stalled Parliament for 22 consecutive working days, demanding a joint parliamentary committee probe into the 2G spectrum scam while avoiding a debate on the floor.

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, however, was clearly the star of the day. He said the BJP's and the RSS' Hitlerian ideology of hatred, violence and divisiveness contrasted sharply with that of the Congress, which took its inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi's gospel of love and communal harmony.

Arjun Singh-like, he concentrated on the communal politics of the BJP and the sangh parivar, drawing applause and laughter from the delegates. He said those of a communal bent of mind, while agreeing that all Muslims were not terrorists, liked to ask: “Why are all terrorists Muslims?” To those people, he said, he would like to pose a counter-question: “All Hindus are not terrorists, but why are all Hindu terrorists connected to the RSS?”

The political resolution pointed out that the BJP had “a history of double standards and doublespeak on issues of serious corruption. While trying to target the Congress, which had sacked some of its Ministers accused of corruption, the BJP was busy defending its corrupt government in Karnataka, the resolution said.

From my readings of various media reports, blogs and comments thereof, I come to believe that most Indians consider that Congress has lost touch with the common man, that there is a calculated and massive cover up of the various scams, that the party is suspected of even participating in the worst scandal India has ever faced and, worst of all, the honesty of even leaders like PM Singh and Pranab is under cloud. It is puzzling why the party is jittery about JPC? Something fundamentally has gone rotten! Fresh election is not the answer, as even if Congress is voted out of power, the real culprits might still go scot-free. Waiting for the courts to deliver a verdict may take years, as people will tend to forget the whole scam by then. No point in arguing the case in the parliament. Opposition parties are obliged to take the issue to the people directly and see that the heat is kept up until the government is forced to come clean.

The recent actions and reactions which have been made by congress is absoultely vote banking concepts, the congress dont want the muslims to grow in india and its ideology to grow up the christanity. The comment "why all terrrorists are muslims?" was originally made by Indian public and not by BJP. BJP is not experienced like Congress in covering up corruption cases like Bofors, Nagarwala etc. They have to learn from Congress the art of repeating the lies year after year. Why Sonia and Rahul kept mum all these months when so many scams were hitting the country. Why they had to wait for US President Obama to leave the country for removing Kalmadi?

RSS is not a terrorist organisation. It is a Nation Building organisation.

Shame on the scoundrels who seek to divert focus from all their nation looting!!

Who started Political Terrorism in India is a big question? RSS or Indira Gandhi? Diggy and Co must see on You Tube, SONIA/RAHUL GANDHI EXPOSED by Dr. Subramanyam Swami. Still Congress tries to show obligation done on country by removing some of the Tainted and Corrupts from seats. Every entry on Higher Post for the Suspended and Fired Corrupts through revolving door must be stopped and put Life Time Ban. WikiLeaks is the " MIRROR " of today’s India and conformation of Citizens feelings. Every Corrupt and Criminal Politicians and Bureaucrats must be arrested under NSA, because of knowingly pushing the country towards " DESTRUCTION ".

I find the comments coming from congress to be totally irresponsible. They should know the gravity of their words before they do a character assassination of an organisation.
RSS is a huge organisation with a lot of people. Even though it is alleged (yet not proved!!) that someone from that organization was a participant of Malegaon incident one cannot make statements that it is linked to terror organizations.
In that case Natwar Singh was liked to the oil for food scam (this is proved), then on similar lines it can be deduced that Congress itself was a part of global mafia which tried to benefit in an illegal manner from Iraq's sanctions.
Isnt this illogical!!. Before one throws slander at others, they should check their own backgrounds.

This sad state of affairs is mainly the fault of the Congress. It played vote bank politics and went out of it's way to placate the Muslims. Moreover the Congress Party took it easy when terror was unleashed by Pakistani agencies so much so that the people got disillusioned by the Congress. The weak Kneed policies of the Congress gave birth to the rise of the BJP.

I commend digvijay by taking the bull by its horns.Indeed RSS and its sister organizations are radicalizing the hindu youth in india. In the grab of hinduta they r telling the hindu youth that india is solely for people who profess those ideas.
The issue is not that Modi or Advani are great at management, history tells us that Hitler and Stalin were too.
India has to be true to its ideal of a secular state,if they succeed to turn india into a theocracy, then the fate of india will not be any better than afganistan.

Whats wrong in asking to probe a multi billion $ scam. If congress is so confident about its members being non corrupt and clean in this scam, they should focus on letting the JPC probe and let the parliament function properly.

Being in power, it is responsibility of the congress party to make this happen.

Stop blamming BJP and raising false accusations.

Stop the policy of divide and rule and adopt results by unification approach.

If you continue to rule like others have done so far, then India is left with no organisation that can rule properly.

I will switch to voting to independents and i hope so would many others.

PS: RSS is not a terrorist organisation, please stop blamming them. Congress is a responsible party, act like one.

They government should first probe the 2G spectrum and CWG scandals till the last person benefited and till the last rupee of revenue lost is identified. Every thing is shady behind Manmohan Singh and Congress gives a clean chit to it. Introspection is must in every organization.

So, this is the best the Congress could think of. There is a scam a day, corruption in public life that has gone through the roof, the growing rich-poor divide, China and Pakistan bleeding India. Jihadis inside and outside the country and the Congress comes up with RSS terror links. There are some loony fundamentalists within the RSS but are they the number 1 risk India faces.

Really, after so many years of ruling, Congress is now thinking of probing. Total crap, congress needs to be dumped right now.

As the time is ripe-enough, at least now, Congress has come forward to bare the vicious fangs of communal organizations; Mainly the RSS of its fissiparous tendencies, by declaring the truth of their nexus with terrorist activites to disrupt the fine fabric of harmony in day-to-day living inter-woven in Indian civilized society. Nevertheless, its unpardonable on the part of Congress, being a responsible National Party to have waited so long to reveal this truth off its cold storage. Now, as the ball is in congress's court to launch the ideal probe to nab those criminal elements responsible for many assaults, the general public eagerly awaits the execution of this proposal.

The primary danger to the integrity of India is the Congress and it's opportunistic caste-religion politics. Such a mean stand has already divided this country once, and if unchecked in time, may disintegrate it further. Congress is obviously frustrated and wants desperately to divert attention from the in-numerous financial irregularities and corruption involving lacs of crores of rupees of tax payers' hard-earned money exposed recently. Otherwise there has happened not a single incident in recent past to make such a hue and cry over 'Hindu extremism' et all as this party and its stooges have been doing.

Congress first has to rout out corruption within its party fold. Starting from CWG, Adarsh and 2G Spectrum, many congress ministers are involved in corruption. Diverting people from real issues, Congress is playing another political game, diverting from its own issues to unnecessary issues.

I think the Congress party is getting desperate and are trying hard to find something to attack the opposition party with. They have failed miserably as a government, and as a party. What with all the corruption, scandals, Rahulbaba's idiotic comments to foreign representatives and utter failure of their state governments and recent spectacular defeats in state elections. The divisive completely irrational comments from Rahul, Sonia and Digvijay show how desperate the party leaders are to hold onto this last straw of "pretentious secularism" that they hope will sail them through. Unfortunately for them, the common man can see through these ridiculous attention-diverting antics.

I am 24 years old. And it's pity to summarize today's politics nothing, but blame game. Every 'so called' leader is trying to bully the masses by diverting their minds to nearly no issues. Problems like serious agricultural flaws, price rise, heavy corruption, naxalism, Kashmir issue and many others have been forgotten by our rulers! And Mr.PM says to media team while on the plane to a foreign trip that such visits are strategically important, else nobody from outside world will take seriously.

I have one single question to you our Prime Minister, do you really think that does your own nation takes you seriously or not?

this congress party has gone insane.see their swiftness in criticising RSS.since they are surrounded by scams on all side so they are now trying to divert people attention fron it.god save this country and its people.they will criticise anything to hide their misdeeds.there is more threat to this country fron congress than anything else. This PARTY IS GOOD FOR NOTHING.

The Prime Minister is trying to divert the attention of Public from the 2G spectrum scam to other way. The UPA is unable to make their stand on corruptions, as well as the nexus between Media and Like Nera RAdia like people.

This is a clear diversionay tactic, one of the sleazy way to wade contreversy in the rule book of politics. Indians are more learned now, this is not 1960's or 1980's for people to belive whatever comes from the ruling party.

The issue at hand is corruption, the massive scams that robed India of billions of dollars must be discussed, probed and giulty punished, instead of this congress leans towards splitting Indians in the name of religion and creating a fear psychosis among minorities with phantom stories. This is a national shame.

Congress is going down. BJP will win with huge margin in the next national elections. I will not vote of congress in my entire life again. Instead of cleaning corruption they are making stupid comments intentionally trying to change the subject.
