Left, TDP, SP seek judicial probe

August 30, 2012 11:37 pm | Updated July 01, 2016 07:41 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Left parties, the Telugu Desam Party and the Samajwadi Party on Thursday joined hands in demanding a judicial probe into the coal blocks allocation.

“We are demanding a judicial enquiry into the entire episode by a sitting Supreme Court judge,” CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said.

Leaders of these parties met in the morning and decided to stage a dharna outside Parliament on Friday before the session begins.

The Left and the TDP have been wanting Parliament to function and the issue of coal blocks allocation discussed on the floor of the House. The Left has said the BJP and the Congress were “hand-in-glove” over the issue and neither wanted Parliament to function.
