Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday alleged that the NDA’s presidential candidate, Ram Nath Kovind, was not a Dalit but was from the the Other Backward Classes in Gujarat and he was being fielded in view of the coming Assembly elections in that State. Appealing to all non-BJP parties to join hands, Mr. Prasad said there was a strong possibility that BSP chief Mayawati and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav might join hands and then, “the 2019 match for the BJP would be over”.
He appealed to party men that all efforts should be made to ensure the victory of Bihar ki beti (Opposition candidate Meira Kumar comes from Bihar) in the presidential polls.”
