Nithari murder case convict Surinder Koli has requested the Dasna jail authorities in Ghaziabad to donate his organs after his execution. In a letter to the jail administration last week, Koli expressed his desire to donate his heart, kidney, eyes and other organs.
Shiv Prakash Yadav, senior superintendent of the Dasna jail where Koli is lodged, told The Hindu that it would take two weeks before a fresh death warrant is issued.
Koli, along with his employer, was arrested in 2006 and charged with the rape and murder of children after skeletons were found at Nithari in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Koli wrote the letter with the hope that his mercy petition before the apex court would get a favourable response. “In case I get executed, I want my eyes, heart, kidney and other useful organs to be donated to an ill or handicapped person.” He had also asked for copies of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘My Experiments with Truth,” and Bhagvad Gita, which were provided to him.
Mr. Yadav said the letter had been sent to higher officials.
Once the apex court’s order is received, the officials would approach the CBI court for a fresh death warrant and execution date.
