C. R. Kesavan, great-grandson of Rajaji, on Friday resigned as member of the Prasar Bharati Board. He submitted his resignation to the Information and Broadcasting Secretary.
A Congress spokesperson, Mr. Kesavan said he had put in his papers in line with the political convention as a new government was to assume office in New Delhi. “As I also belong to a political party, the right thing to do was to resign,” he told The Hindu over telephone. Mr. Kesavan was a part-time member on the Board. Suman Dubey, another part-time member, has also resigned.
Just two days ago, the former West Bengal Governor >Gopalakrishna Gandhi resigned as Chairman of both the prestigious Shimla-based Indian Institute of Advanced Study and the Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, following the regime change.
