The Youth Congress launched a unique protest here on Monday by organising a mass e-mail campaign for Internet neutrality.

The campaign raised a banner of protest against the decision of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Internet neutrality. “Internet is our right. We will resist any move against that right,” said mouth-painter Jasfar Kottakkunnu and former Santhosh Trophy Kerala football team captain Jaseer Karanath. Together, they inaugurated the e-mail campaign. Hundreds of protesters joined them in the campaign by sending e-mails to advqos@trai.gov.in with the message: “Internet is our birth right. All bits are equal. We won’t pay more for special bits. We will not allow this robbery. We stand together for Net Neutrality.”

Youth Congress parliament committee president Riyas Mukkoli presided. Youth Congress local leaders P.R. Rohil Nath, Hasan Ponneth, Nasar Parappur, P.K. Noufal Babu, P. Nidhish, C.K. Haris, Sajad Babu, Jisham Pulamanthol, P. Ramshad, and Latheef Kuttalungal spoke.
