The Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) is organising a one-day workshop on ‘‘Super-capacitors 2015: application potential, technology status and commercialisation’’ on Friday.
The workshop will feature the present status of super-capacitor development in the country and abroad and also will bring awareness on its diverse applications.
‘‘Super-capacitors are potential electrical energy storage devices having very fast charge/discharge characteristics with high-power capacity and these find applications in transportation, consumer, and industrial electronics, including mobile phone, camera flashes, electronic toys, engine starting, regenerative breaking, and power supplies,’’ said V. Kumar, Director, C-MET. This workshop will provide an insight into the major areas such as manufacturing potential of super-capacitor materials and utilisation of super-capacitors for various applications, he said. — Staff Reporter
