Workshop for fisheries society members

The Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI), Bengaluru, is organising a workshop for the members of the tribal fisheries cooperative societies and staff of the Fisheries Department in the district on Android mobile application-based electronic data acquisition system.

The workshop, organised in association with the Fisheries Department, will be held at Pookode at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday.

The innovative application, which has been developed by the CIFRI, would provide details of accurate data on inland fish catch, the organisers said in a press release issued here.

In dams

The programme was organised as part of the launch of the system in Karapuzha and Banasura Sagar reservoirs in the district, the organisers added.

M. Ferozkhan, scientist-in-charge, CIFRI, Bengaluru; M. Karthikeyan, senior scientist, CIFRI; and B.K. Sudheerkishan, Assistant Director, Fisheries Department, Wayanad; would handle various sessions on the topic at the workshop.
