Women’s adalat settles 55 cases

The mega adalat held here by Women’s Commission last week could help arrange settlements in 55 cases. As many as 103 cases came up for consideration before the commission.

The commission has postponed 32 cases for hearing in the next adalat. Sixteen cases have been referred to police for further investigation. Most of the cases, which were settled at the adalat, pertained to marriage fraud and domestic violence. The adalat was held under the supervision of Women’s Commission member J. Pramila Devi, a press release said.
