A 23-year old woman, Deepti, from Kunnamthanam Palackalthakidy near Thiruvalla succumbed to A(H1N1) influenza at the Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital in Thiruvalla on Tuesday.
She had given birth to a twins at District Hospital on October 12 and was shifted to PMC following acute respiratory disease symptoms resembling that of A(H1N1), later.
According to District Medical Officer, A.R.Ayshabai, the woman was a clinically confirmed case of A(H1N1) influenza.
The DMO said as many as 15 cases of A(H1N1) flu cases have been reported from the district as on Tuesday.
