A young woman was crushed to death, and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and husband had a narrow escape as their scooter collided head-on with a truck near Manjeswaram on Monday.
The tragedy occurred around 3 p.m. as Muneeba, 26, riding pillion got crushed under the wheels of the fish-laden truck after being thrown off the two-wheeler. Her daughter Nusaiba and husband Abbas, 32, escaped with injuries, police said. The couple, residents of nearby Pavoor locality, and their child was proceeding towards Manjeswaram when the accident occurred at the Hosangadi traffic circle. The body of the woman was shifted to Mangalpady Community Health Centre. Police took the truck driver into custody.
Her daughter Nusaiba and husband Abbas, 32, escaped with injuries,
