The State’s first Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra (DDUKK) established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) will soon partner with Infopark and Kitco to scale up its career-oriented programmes in mobile phone application development and technology, and management consulting.
The centre has completed preliminary discussions aimed at utilising the expertise of both Infopark and Kitco in moulding industry-ready graduates. “We hope to sign an agreement with the organisations soon. They would help us in designing the curriculum and resource training besides helping us find suitable placement for the students,” said K.A. Zakkariya, director of the DDUKK at Cusat.
Candidates enrolling for the M. Voc courses in mobile phone application development and technology and management consulting have the advantage of exiting the course at multiple points.
“Students who successfully complete first two semesters can discontinue the programme if they wish and can get a postgraduate diploma. Those who discontinue after second semester with postgraduate diploma may be permitted to take lateral entry to third semester at a later time if they wish to do so and can finish their M. Voc degree,” said Mr. Zakkariya.
Postgraduate diploma holders in mobile phone application development will be equipped to work in application development projects. They will be trained in building mobile apps for Android, iOS, and Windows 8.
Dr. Zakkariya said the M. Voc course in technology and management consulting would provide participants an opportunity to become familiar with various phases in a consulting project.
