Kerala Youth Affairs Minister P.K. Jayalakshmi has said the government would try to provide a permanent space to the Wayanad Agri-Horticulture Society (WAHS) to organise the annul flower show.
Speaking after inaugurating the 28th Wayanad Flower Show being organised by the WAHS here on Saturday, Ms. Jayalakshmi said it was the second biggest flower show in South India after the Udhagamandalam flower show. The government would try to provide a free space to WAHS to organise the flower show and attract more visitors to the emerging tourism destination. K. Sadanandan, president, WAHS presided.
Close to 125 stalls, exhibiting varieties of flowers, plants, vegetables, agriculture implements and ornamental fish are part of the flower show. Various competitions for the public, including flower decoration, vegetable cutting and carving, air rifle shooting, cookery competitions and a pet show will be held in the coming days.
