Relatives of a 28-year-old man, who reportedly drowned after he went missing from a ship on April 28, are still waiting for the arrival of his body. The body of Arunlal Raveendran of Chavara South was found at the Jet Shell Depoh on April 30. But the relatives were told about it only on May 2. The body was kept at the mortuary of a hospital awaiting permission from relatives to conduct autopsy. Though the consent had been forwarded via the Indian Embassy at Malaysia, the family is still awaiting information on repatriation of the body. A relative Sumesh S. said the family suspected that Arunlal could be a victim of a human trafficking and that the relatives suspect foul play behind the murder. Arunlal had joined the ship Mv Kim Ho Hin as a crew on December 31 last.
