Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan will address public functions as part of his whirlwind election campaign tour in the district on Thursday.
An official press release of the CPI(M) district committee here on Wednesday said that Mr. Achuthanandan would begin the campaign tour on Thursday at Chakkarakkal in the Dharmadam constituency where CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan is contesting as the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate.
The senior leader and the LDF’s star campaigner will address the campaign meeting at Chakkarakkal at 10 a.m. He will also address the public meetings at Panur at 4 p.m., Iritty at 5.30 p.m. and Mattannur at 6.30 p.m., the release said.
In the coming days, CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, party Polit Bureau members Mr. Vijayan and Mr. M.A. Baby will also tour different parts of the district to address campaign meetings.
