A section of CPI(M) leaders at Neeleshwaram is understood to have held secret meetings to extend support to V.S. Achuthanandan.
A group of party activists under the party’s Neeleshwaram area committee organised informal meetings to chalk out strategies in adopting a clear-cut stand in favour of Mr. Achuthanandan , reliable sources here said.
As many as seven of the 19 members in the area committee are known to be loyalists of Mr. Achuthanandan. Those who took part in the meets included members of the branch and local committees.
