Achuthanandan seeks SC intervention in journalists-lawyers standoff

July 31, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 18, 2016 05:06 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has sought intervention by the Supreme Court Chief Justice to resolve the stand-off between journalists and lawyers.

In a letter to the Chief Justice on Friday, Mr. Achuthanandan said journalists were finding it impossible to enter the Kerala High Court and district courts for reporting assignments. A section of lawyers and the police were denying the people the right to information by preventing the journalists from carrying out their work on court premises.
