Vengara poised to lift overall championship

Vengara sub-district looked poised to lift the overall championship of the district school arts festival held at Government Raja’s Higher Secondary School, Kottakkal. As competitions peaked into the late evening hours on the last day of the festival on Thursday, Vengara sub-district, riding on the sterling performance of PKMM Higher Secondary School, Edarikode, was ahead of Edappal and Malappuram.

The final day’s evening provided a visual treat for the large crowds when keenly fought events of higher secondary students like kolkali, group dance and duff muttu were presented on different stages.

Results

The following were the results of some high school events held on Thursday:

Mono Act (boys): Kunhali Jibran from KMHSS, Kottur North, won the first prize when V. Pranav from GHSS, Vettathur, and S. Aravind from GHSS, Irimbiliyam, shared the second prize.

Mono Act (girls): T. Anjana from GUPS, Neelancheri, won the first prize and Snigdha Sreenivas from GHSS, Kattilangadi, won the second prize.

Duff Muttu (boys): K. Mubashirali and team from PPMHSS, Kottukkara, won the first prize and P. Nishad and team from AKMHSS, Kottur, won the second prize.

Kathaprasangam: S. Krishnendu from KHMHS, Alathiyur, won the first prize and Shoukathali Khan from PGHS, Ponnani, won the second prize.

Kolkali (boys): Mohammed Sanfeel and team of PKMMHSS, Edarikkode, won the first prize and K. Salmanul Faris from AKMHSS, Kottur, won the second prize.

Mimicry (girls): Mariya K. Saju from NSSEMHS, Tirur, won the first prize and Hiba from PKMMHSS, Edarikode, won the second prize.

Mimicry (boys): Abhirami Suresh from CBHSS, Vallikkunnu, won the first prize when M.P. Arun from GBHSS, Manjeri, and B. Nidhish Krishna from GHSS, Tiruvali, shared the second prize.

Kuchipudi (girls): K.P. Amrita from MSPHSS, Malappuram, won the first prize and N. Gayatri from RMHS, Melattur, won the second prize.

The following were some of the results in higher secondary category:

Kuchipudi (boys): Akhil Gopal from MESHSS, Mampad, won the first prize and P. Vignesh from GRHS, Kottakkal, won the second prize.

Thiruvathira (girls): C.J. Soumya and team from GHSS, Edappal, won the first prize and E. Aiswarya from RMHS, Melattur, won the second prize.

Tabla: K. Sruthi from MMMHSS, Koottai, won the first prize and Roshit Sudheer from CBHSS, Vallikkunnu, won the second prize.

Group song: Sarath Murali and team from MSPHSS, Malappuram, won the first prize when Goutami K. Nedungadi and team from PKMMHSS, Edarikode, won the second prize.
