Vehicle involved in accident yet to be traced

The Chingavanam police are yet to trace the vehicle that knocked down a two-wheeler rider here on Sunday midnight. Jeff Raju Thomas (27) of Chingavanam, near here, who was riding the two-wheeler, died in the accident.

The accident occurred near the Kodimatha bridge on MC Road.

The police said that Jeff had suffered severe injuries in his head and right shoulder and had bled profusely. A group of passersby who found him on the road informed the police and he was taken to the Kottayam Medical College, where he was declared dead.

The motorcycle was found in a completely damaged state.

The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.

The police said that no relevant information about the culprits had been found and that investigations were on.
