Underwaterdam survey hit

March 22, 2011 08:25 pm | Updated 08:25 pm IST - KATTAPPANA:

A disruption in the scanning of images by the remote-operated underwater vehicle has hindered the survey of the dam by a team of experts from the Central Soil and Minerals Research Station, New Delhi.

A senior official of the Irrigation Department said that underwater survey had already been done at 14 spots marked by the team. The field survey, scheduled to be completed on March 26, would take some more days, he said.

Mullaperiyar Special Cell chief M.K. Parameswaran Nair visited the survey area on Tuesday.
