Unaccounted money seized

The police on Tuesday arrested Raghavendra, hailing from Vijayanagar in Bengaluru, and seized Rs.26.95 lakh from him at the excise check-post at Muthanga on the Kerala-Karnataka border.

Raghavendra was taking the cash from Bengaluru to Kozhikode in a Karnataka State Transport Corporation bus and kept the cash in secret pockets of his jacket, A.R. Premkumar, Deputy Police Superintendent, Mananthavadi, said. A few days ago, excise officials had arrested a Tamil Nadu native from a KSRTC bus and seized unaccounted cash of Rs.20 lakh from him. Raghavendra would be produced before the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court.
