Uduma panchayat office, bus attacked

The Uduma grama panchayat office and a private bus parked near the building suffered damage in an attack by unidentified persons in the early hours of Saturday.

Grill wondows of the panchayat office building situated at Palakkunu here was damaged.

Furniture, including a shelf, inside the office were targeted by the miscreants, the police said.

The glass panes of the bus owned by Rahim Kappil, a local Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) activist, were smashed by the miscreants.

The Bekal police suspected deliberate attempt by anti-social elements to trigger political and communal violence in the light of setting afire the Bharatiya Janatha Party’s (BJP) Uduma panchayat office recently.
