State secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party A.A. Azeez has said that neither the United Democratic Front-led State government nor the United Progressive Alliance-led Union government has the democratic right to continue in office.

He was inaugurating a delegates’ session of the eighth State conference of the Revolutionary Youth Front (RYF) here on Saturday.

The UDF government in Kerala was on shaky ground. After 22 months of rule the front had lost its collective responsibility.

It enjoyed only a narrow majority due to which a blind eye was being turned to wrongs committed by those in the Oommen Chandy Cabinet, Mr. Azeez alleged.

Scandals

It was a shame that a Minister involved in a sex scandal was being protected. The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies was facing corruption charges, he said.

RYF State president C. Unnikrishnan presided. RSP central committee member Manohar Tirkey delivered the keynote address.

The party’s central secretariat member V.P. Ramakrishna Pillai spoke on the occasion.
