The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] district committee meeting that came to a close at Ranni, near here, on Thursday unanimously elected K.P. Udayabhanu as the party district secretary. The meeting also elected a 32-member district committee and 20 delegates for the forthcoming party State meeting. Mr. Udayabhanu, 60, a bachelor, started his public life as the Kerala State Karshaka Thozhilali Union (KSKTU) secretary of Enadimangalam village in 1975. He is at present the KSKTU district secretary. Mr. Udayabhanu was twice elected as the president of Enadimangalam grama panchayat. — Special Correspondent
