Weavers and artisans from across India present their products at silk and cotton expo

: A silk and cotton exhibition organised by Kala Silk at the Municipal Town Hall, Perinthalmanna, here has put on sale dress materials, including saris, and handicrafts.

Handloom clothes are offered at 20 per cent discount. Weavers and artisans from different States are presenting their products.

The 100-odd stalls at the Town Hall have traditional textiles of Rajasthan, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh on display.

The handloom section features a wide variety of saris, including Kancheepuram, Bangalore silk, Mangalagiri cotton, Pochampally cotton, Manipuri cotton, Bandhini, Kantha, Madurai cotton, Dharmapuram and Chanderi sarees, Bengal cotton, Coimbatore cotton, Kolkota thread work, Gadhwal silk, Banaras rich pallu and Mysore silk.

The handicrafts section has wooden dolls, jewellery made of Jaipur gems and pearls, Meenakari work, paper flowers, Kolhapur footwear, jute bags and Shanti Niketan leather bags.

The organisers said there was 10 per cent discount on handicrafts.

The show will continue till Thursday.
