The High Range Protection Council has said that it will intensify its agitation if the government went back from the assurance given by it that there will be a solution to the title deed issue within 30 days.
In a release after a leadership meeting of the council here on Saturday, it said the collectorate blockade agitation was stopped after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy promised a lasting solution within 30 days.
The release said that it would block the classes scheduled to be held for local body presidents on the Gadgil report on June 6 and 7 at the collectorate at Painau.
The classes were organised to mislead people's representatives and there was a hidden agenda to implement the report, it said. The council flayed Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash for his comments at the stone laying function of the Idukki Medical College at Cheruthoni on Friday that the council was leading a strike without any base and the government would not succumb to such pressures.
The council release said that it would not go back from the agitation, but only intensify it if the government went back from the promises given by it. A solution should be found in a time frame and if it did not keep the promise, the council would intensify its agitation, it said. The council is an umbrella organisation of religious groups spearheading the agitation.
