Tight security for Modi’s Kerala visit

Tight security has been put in place in connection with visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who arrives here this afternoon.

Special attention is being paid to Mr. Modi, who is already under Z-plus security cover, in view of protests over his visit to Sivagiri Mutt at Varkala, >especially from Leftist parties . Mr. Modi is to inaugurate the valedictory of the Golden Jubilee of Sreenarayana Dharma Meemamsa Parishat and the 51st meeting of the Parishat at Sivagiri in the evening.

Mr. Modi, who arrives here by special flight, will be leaving for Varkala by car immediately after his arrival here and a reception by BJP workers at the airport around 3.30 pm. BJP State president V. Muraleedharan said, that the Gujarat Chief Minister did not have any other scheduled programme in Kerala.

He will be returning to Gujarat by 9 pm.
