The district recorded a pass percentage of 97.19 in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination, the result of which was announced on Wednesday. This is higher than the State average.
In all, 38,990 students passed out of the 40,118 students who appeared for the examination. As many as 2,039 students secured A+ in all subjects, including 211 students from government schools. Among them, 1,399 are girls.
While 1,424 students from aided schools secured A+, 404 students from unaided schools also secured the same grade. Of the 263 schools in the district, 102 schools recorded cent per cent pass. Another 40 schools recorded 99 per cent pass. The pass percentage of three education districts is as follows – Thrissur (98.86); Irinjalakuda (98.42) and Chavakkad (95).
Maximum number of students passed from L.F. Girls High School, Chelakkara. All the 391 students appeared from the school passed in the examination. Second place is for St. Sebastian’s school, Kuttikkad. In all, 388 students passed from the school.
94.8% pass in Kasaragod
Staff Reporter writes from Kasaragod: The district registered a pass percentage of 94.8 in the SSLC examination, with 19,679 students, out of the 20,758 who appeared for the examination, qualifying for higher studies.
In Kasaragod education district, 10,530 students passed the examination. As many as 9,149 students passed the examination from Kanhangad. As many as 10,984 students from government schools, 7,327 from aided and 1,368 from unaided schools cleared the examination.
The district’s 48 schools recorded 100 per cent pass – 14 in Kasaragod education district and 34 in Kanhangad – which included 29 government schools. As many as 825 students – 299 boys and 526 girls – secured A+ in all subjects; 419 of them were government school students; and 18 of them belonged to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
