Three of a family, including a five-year-old girl child, were found dead in their house at Padanayarkulangara, near Karunagapally, on Saturday morning. The police identified the dead as Yusuf, 35, his wife Senuja, 32, and their daughter Fida.

The police said the bodies were found in three separate rooms of the house. The child was wearing new clothes. Preliminary examinations suggested that Yusuf may have killed his wife and daughter by poisoning them and then consumed the poison himself.

The police found a 'suicide note' scribbled on the wall raising allegations against Yusuf's wife. Yusuf was earlier employed in the Gulf. He returned home after an accident and since then has been running a stationary shop at Karunagapally. A police team led by Karunagapaly Dy.SP Prasanna Kumar inspected the scene and registered a case. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem examination at the Karunagapally Taluk Hospital.
