Three killed in accidents

Three persons were killed in different accidents in the district on Tuesday.

A head-load worker was run over by a lorry, which came with vegetables at Chalakudy market. The deceased was Ramakrishnan, 55, of Pariyaram. Though he was rushed to a hospital his life could not be saved.

In another accident, a 19-year-old youth was killed when a bus hit the motorcycle which he was riding pillion at Nattika. Akshay Krishna, son of Radhakrishnan of Thalikkulam, was killed on the spot in the accident near the Fisheries School. In yet another accident, an elderly person was killed when a car hit his bicycle on National Highway at Kodakara. The deceased was identified as Narayanan, 62, of Marathambally. At Kechery, a school bus and a private bus collided injuring 15 passengers. The bus of IES School, Chittilappilly, collided with a bus going to Kozhikode. The traffic on the Kunnamkulam-Thrisusr Road was disrupted for sometime due to the accident.
