Three electrocuted

Three persons were electrocuted in two separate incidents at Kumbazha and Elavumthitta in Pathanamthitta district on Sunday afternoon.

Two workers from Kumbazha, Sandeep, 32, and Akhil M. Dinesh, 23, were electrocuted while carrying out repairs in an old house near the District Ayurvedic Hospital at Ayroor on Sunday afternoon.

The house had been closed for the past 15 years.

The police said the duo were found lying electrocuted on the ground close by the iron gate which they were fixing around 1.30 p.m.

Though they were taken to a private hospital in Kozhencherry, they were declared dead later.

In another incident, Santhoshkumar, 32, of Charuvil Puthenparmbil house at Elavumthitta who was employed in a welding workshop was electrocuted while fixing an iron grill in the veranda of a house in his village around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The police have registered two separate cases. The post-mortem examinations will be conducted on Monday.
