`Thookkom' at Ezhamkulam temple to be held on Friday

The Thookom Vazhipadu (offering) in connection with the annual Kumbha Bharani festival at the Ezhamkulam Bhagavathy Temple near Adoor will be held on March 7, Friday, beginning at 6 p.m.

The preparations for the Thookkom Vazhipadu , a ceremony originally linked to human sacrifice (Narabali) of yore have already begun at Ezhamkulam.

According to the temple devaswom authorities, as many as 624 Thookkom offerings will be performed as part of the festival this year.
