A primary school headmaster at Kattampally here was arrested on Monday on the charge of sexually abusing a minor girl. The arrested have been identified as P. Baburaj. According to police, the teacher allegedly abused the class III student of the school in the classroom and his office room. The girl mentioned the incident to her classmates and parents, the police said. The parents informed Childline, which in turn alerted the Valapattanam police.
The teacher was charged under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was later produced in the court here and sent to judicial custody for two weeks.
