Suspected Maoist activist Anoop Mathew, who was among the five arrested from Coimbatore earlier this year, was brought here on Wednesday in connection with the distribution of ‘‘anti-establishment’’ posters in parts of the district.

Anoop Mathew, a native of Pathanamthitta, was brought from Coimbatore where he was undergoing jail term after the arrest of the group. He was produced before the district court here.

The court sent him for two days custody of police in Kanhangad, Dy.SP K. Harischandra Naik told The Hindu .
