A team of Revenue officials conducted surveys in Chinnakkanal and Bison Valley villages in Udumbanchola taluk on Friday. A large number of encroachers have been evicted from land illegally occupied by them at these villages. Udumbanchola Tahsildar V.R. Mohanan Pillai said the survey would continue in the coming days also. The survey is being held to assess the extent of encroachments on the land owned by the State-owned Hindustan Newspaper Ltd., near Sinkukandam in Chinnakkanal, and the government owned land in Bison Valley.
