Summer camp for school children

Sagara Balolsavam, a four-day summer camp for schoolchildren by the Shakthikulangara Samskarika Sangham, will commence on April 7.

The programme venue at the Western Arts complex at Shakthikulangara has been christened Egine-Jomon-Emmanuel Nagar in memory of three boys from the area who drowned recently at the sea near the Shakthikulangara parish church. Programme convener Joy Mathias said here on Wednesday that the camp would be inaugurated by veteran Kathakali artiste Chavara Parukutty. N.K. Premachandran and K. Somaprasad, MPs, and Kollam Mayor V. Rajendra Babu will speak.

At the valedictory function, Lintu Peter from Shakthikulangara, who had secured first rank in M.Sc. (Food Science) of Mahatma Gandhi University, will be honoured.
